• ¾ oz. / 22.5 ml. overproof dark rum (Planteray OFTD)

• ¾ oz. / 22.5 ml. Malört

• ¾ oz. / 22.5 ml. fresh lime juice

• ½ oz. / 15 ml. orgeat

• ¼ oz. / 7.5 ml. cinnamon syrup

METHOD
add all ingredients to shaker tin / shake with ice until chilled / strain into coupe or Nick and Nora / no garnish

Created by Joe Beauprez (@joe.e.b), this drink hits hard but stays balanced. Overproof rum brings the heat, Malört throws in its signature bite, and orgeat plus cinnamon smooth it out with some rich, nutty depth. Lime juice cuts through it all, keeping things from going off the rails. It’s like a Mai Tai that’s been through some things. Loud, bitter, somehow comforting.
