OUT OF THIS WORLD
1½ oz. / 45 ml. Empress gin
½ oz. / 15 ml. Aperol
¾ oz. / 22.5 ml. fresh lime juice
½ oz. / 15 ml. passionfruit syrup
¼ oz. / 7.5 ml. pineapple syrup
¾ oz. / 22. 5 ml. milk, to clarify
½ oz. / 15 ml. Empress gin, post clarification
edible glitter (omitted)
Note: scaled down to serve one
METHOD
combine all ingredients except milk / stir and pour over milk / let sit for a 1-2 hours (or overnight) until milk curdles / slowly pour mixture into funnel with coffee filter or paper towel / first drops will be cloudy, so swap out container when drops are clear / pass through cloudy portion until all is clear / add remaining Empress gin and optional edible glitter / store in sealed bottle / to serve, pour over clear ice / garnish with pineapple fronds
ABOUT
This cocktail was created by Nathan Talbert (@food_ninja808). He was influenced in part by the tiki classic Saturn (gin + passionfruit). The addition of Aperol and pineapple turns it into something bright, juicy, and definitely on the sweeter side. A little more gin post-clarification helps keep it balanced, so adjust to your palate. Bonus points if you add edible glitter for that full galaxy vibe (I didn’t have any at the time of shooting this!). Cheers y’all!
