Pear Pear Plane
PEAR PEAR PLANE
1 oz. / 30 ml. rye whiskey
1 oz. / 30 ml. spiced pear liqueur
½ oz. / 15 ml. Aperol
½ oz. / 15 ml. Averna
1 oz. / 30 ml. fresh lemon juice
METHOD
add all ingredients to shaker tin / shake with ice until chilled / fine strain into coupe or Nick and Nora / garnish with a lemon twist (optional)
ABOUT
I stumbled across this clever Paper Plane riff last week and had to reshake it. Created by @rumbleandstir, the name is spot on and the flavors are beautifully balanced. This one is warming enough for fall, yet bright enough to enjoy any time of year. Between the spice of the rye, the pear liqueur’s baked-fruit warmth, the Aperol-lemon brightness, and the earthy bitterness of Averna, this one really flies. Cheers y’all!
