2 oz. / 60 ml. Szechuan peppercorn-infused gin
¼ oz. / 7.5 ml. apricot liqueur
¼ oz. / 7.5 ml. falernum
¾ oz. / 22.5 ml. fresh lime juice
¼ oz. / 7.5 ml. simple syrup
METHOD
add all ingredients to shaker tin / add ice and shake until chilled / strain into coupe or Nick and Nora / no garnish
SZECHUAN PEPPERCORN-INFUSED GIN
250 ml. gin
2.5 grams Szechuan peppercorn
combine and stir occasionally for 35 minutes, then strain and bottle

This cocktail was created by Jessica Gonzalez in 2009 for Death & Company (@deathandcompany). It is a bright and unexpected twist on a gin sour. The Szechuan peppercorn brings a gentle tingle and warmth, while apricot, falernum, and lime layer in fruit, spice, and balance. Cheers y’all!
