Trinidadi Issues
TRINIDADI ISSUES
1½ oz. / 45 ml. Angostura bitters
¾ oz. / 22.5 ml. aged rum (blended, aged, molasses)
¾ oz. / 22.5 ml. fresh lime juice
¾ oz. / 22.5 ml. pineapple juice
½ oz. / 15 ml. orgeat
½ oz. / 15 ml. cinnamon syrup
METHOD
add all ingredients to shaker tin / add ice and shake until chilled / strain into a glass over fresh pebble or crushed ice / garnish with a mint bouquet after slapping to express the oils (I believe fresh nutmeg was meant to be here too!)

This cocktail was created in 2019 by the talented Chad Austin (@chaddaustin) at Lono Bar (now closed; Hollywood, CA). I’ve shared riffs on the Trinidad Sour before, which led me to come across this one. WOW, I can’t believe it took me this long to make it. It’s huge on aromatics and flavor, and the balance is impressive. You really do feel like you’re in a tiki bar when you’re sipping one of these. Cheers y’all!
