FINAL SAY

• ¾ oz. / 22.5 ml. gin (I used Empress for the extra color)

• ¾ oz. / 22.5 ml. maraschino liqueur

• ¾ oz. / 22.5 ml. crème de Violette

• ¾ oz. / 22.5 ml. fresh lime juice

METHOD
add all ingredients to shaker tin / shake with ice until chilled / fine strain into coupe or Nick and Nora / garnish with a lime twist (optional)

From The Official Downton Abbey Cocktail Book, ghostwritten by Lou Bustamante (@thevillagedrunk). It’s a cross between a Last Word (gin, maraschino, chartreuse, lime) and an Aviation (gin, maraschino, violette, lemon). Although the ingredients more resemble an Aviation, the equal-parts nature brings it back to a Last Word.
